STEM

 

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are not just for the school “brainiacs”.  The benefits of learning these subjects spread across all areas of life and in every career choice.  In this burgeoning technological era these subjects encourage reasoning and teach the type of thinking skills that 21st century adults are going to need in a world where almost everything will be enhanced by this course.

Problem Solving

A natural “how does it do that” response from kids leads to imperative critical thinking skills. Kids learn to rationalise and reason when learning about and imagining a robots potential. Finding out just how robotics can help with problem solving, leads to the conception of a myriad other possibilities and the opportunity to figure out just how to make them happen. Just because your child battles to figure out a maths problem in black and white in front of them, doesn’t mean they don’t have the aptitude for maths. This Course teaches fun, practical reasoning and problem solving that kids don’t even realise they are learning.

Decision making

Understanding cause and effect is an essential life skill that we try to teach our children from birth. “Don’t touch that, it’s hot and you will get burnt”. These simple concepts are easy to grasp, but as you get older, decisions are harder to make. With problem solving and critical thinking skills, good and quick decision-making becomes a lot easier. Building and programming robots goes hand-in-hand with problem solving and taps directly into a child’s natural curiosity, which is exactly where great ideas and life-changing inventions are born.

Coding

The future of the world lies not just in being able to use technology, but also in developing it. To understand robotics kids need to be exposed to coding and programming. There is already a gap in the career market for coders and continual advancements in technology only serves to highlight the importance of robotics education in schools. Finding ways to increase interest in STEM subjects, and their relevance to the exciting world our kids will soon be living in is becoming a crucial part of their education.

Advancements in technology are happening every single day.  Kids around the world are being exposed to the advantages of learning robotics and understanding their place in society today.  Others will be left at a distinct disadvantage when they leave school, with possibly fewer career and study opportunities than those who have already been exposed to the educational concept of what STEM education can do and how they do it.
